PRP Facial with Microneedling

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) combined with microneedling is used to produce an enhancement in appearance and is typically used for skin rejuvenation and scar reduction. Your own platelet rich plasma is used to help promote collagen production, skin rejuvenation, and improve healing. During the dermaroller needling process, the micro-pores created allow for the PRP to be absorbed and pushed into the upper layers of the skin. This combined process is intended to increase the desired effects of reducing skin blemishes such as fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, discoloration, large pores, and more. Treatment uses an FDA approved Dermaroller medical device that creates controlled micro-needle punctures of the skin surface. These needles penetrate the layers of skin to a depth of up to 1.5 mm (depending on the needle length used). This process has two major benefits, it effectively stimulates collagen formation at the same time as providing a clear channel for topical serums to be absorbed more effectively through the top layer (epidermis) of skin.

Dermarolling is a form of Collagen Induction Therapy which is intended to smooth wrinkles, and improve depressed acne scarring. As the dermaroller is rolled over your skin, it makes pinpoint punctures, most of which are simply temporarily opening your pores. Your body perceives this as damage, which triggers the release of growth factors that, in turn, stimulate the production of elastin and collagen, resulting in ‘rejuvenation’ of the skin. Applied PRP is intended to improve the healing and rejuvenation of the skin.

The human body is designed to react to any injury by initiating the healing process, and normally it will heal only as far as it has to keep you in good health, this is very different to healing to a cosmetic level. By persistently triggering this healing process, you encourage your body to keep repairing, ideally leading to greater results.

Depending on desired results, a series of Dermaroller treatments may be recommended, normally with at least 1~4 weeks between treatments, to achieve the maximum cosmetic results.
